Hotel Phi Canalgrande

In Modena, we stayed at Hotel Phi Canalgrande, a historic hotel right in the heart of the city. The location truly couldn’t be better as it was just steps from Piazza Grande and an easy walk to restaurants, cafés, and shops. The hotel has that classic old-world Italian charm, with high ceilings, antique furnishings, and beautiful period details that make it feel elegant yet welcoming. It’s the kind of place that immediately immerses you in the atmosphere of the city.
Our family room was actually two adjoining rooms, which gave us plenty of space to spread out and relax. It worked perfectly as a base for day trips to Parmigiano Reggiano factories, traditional balsamic vinegar estates, and the Ferrari museums. Breakfast was another highlight with an impressive buffet spread, a juicer station to make your own fresh green juice, and a lovely outdoor courtyard where we could linger over coffee while the kids enjoyed a slower start to the day.
